Candaian Gun Registration
Every hunter entering Canada is required to register their firearm at the border. To register your firearm you must complete a Non-Resident Firearm Declaration form. This form should be obtained ahead of time and completed prior to entering Canada. This form can be downloaded from the internet by following the link below. Non-Resident Firearm Declaration form If you download the form from the Web, make two photocopies of the completed form and present all three forms to the customs officer at the border. Leave the signature block empty. The customs officer must verify your firearms and witness your signature. You will also pay the $50 CDN fee before you receive a confirmation number and a copy of the confirmed declaration. You should carry the copy with you at all times while in possession of your firearms in Canada. |
What about pre-processing? If you are flying into Saskatoon airport pre processing is availabe. This may significantly decrease the amount of time it takes to clear customs. To do this you complete the same form as stated above. The form can then be sent via fax or mail.
